Nilay Taneja, Ph. D.

Principal Investigator

I obtained my undergraduate degree in Biotechnology in India from Dr. D.Y. Patil University, Pune and pursued my master's dissertation thesis research at IISER, Pune. I subsequently pursued a Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology at Vanderbilt University in the Burnette lab, where I acquired expertise in super-resolution microscopy and biophysical approaches to study the mechanobiology of cancer and cardiac cells in culture. As a postdoc in the Zallen lab at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I applied these tools to intact fly and mouse embryos to study mechanotransduction in the context of developing epithelial tissues.
